Before the First Screw
This sheet is the project's starting line. Notes and photos now mean everyone agrees how the site looked before work began.
Install day one — before work starts
Purpose
Day-one baseline — protects the installer, the customer, and the schedule.
When
Install day 1, before work starts.
Who
The installer — the crew lead on site.
The work
1
Confirm your install guide
The current install guide or order packet, in hand. Wrong or missing? Email support before you start.
2
Look at the floor
Installed? Does it run under the cabinets? Flooring decides heights, shims, toe kicks, appliance fit.
3
Confirm the inventory
Delivery checked. Missing items listed. Damage already reported.
4
Check every appliance
On site. Make and model against the spec. Find a wrong appliance on day 1, not day 4.
5
Walk the site
Utilities live. Blocking in. Shut-offs located. Carry routes clear. Hazards named.
6
Photograph the starting line
Floors, walls, access, delivered goods, existing damage. Before photos are the baseline for everything after.
The gateNo guide, no start — and site conditions on record before work begins.
Handoff
The signed sheet and before photos stay with the job record — the baseline for everything after.
Escalate
Wrong or missing install guide: email support before you start. Anything that needs the GC or customer: flag it today, while there is still time to fix it.
